Tired of zoom meetings?  Want to let your inner geophysicist play?

Come join your GST peers for “GST Field Day” on September 24th - 25th.  We will have the TU 48 channel seismograph available at the Tulsa County District 12 Levee ”A” site in Sand Springs, OK.  Your big chance to plant geophones, wrangle cable and take out any frustrations by functioning as an “active seismic source”.  In other words, swing a big hammer and hit something!

Location is Tulsa County District 12 Levee "A" in Sand Springs at the intersection of Bigheart Creek and Charles Page Blvd.  We will be onsite from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on both days.  Feel free to come and go but a group size of 8 – 10 people is desirable. Masks and social distancing protocols will be observed.  Bring water, gloves, ear protection, sunscreen and bug spray.

Data will be recorded.  You will be evaluated based on amplitude, frequency content and phase behavior.  Extra points for best Rayleigh wave.  Special recognition for poorest S/N…
