Speaker: Bertrand Six, CGG
Bio: Bertrand is currently working as regional technical manager in the Reservoir Characterization group of CGG. He has held various positions in Europe, the Middle East and North America, working on integrated projects from frontier exploration to 4D reservoir monitoring studies. He has a M.Sc. in Geology from LaSalle Institute, France and a M.Sc. in Petroleum Geoscience from Imperial College London.
Title: Application of Geostatistical Seismic Inversion in the Meramec formation in the STACK play of the Anadarko Basin
Abstract: This study focuses on characterizing the Meramec units, located within the STACK play in the Anadarko Basin area, Oklahoma. It uses a high-end multi-client seismic survey combined with a geostatistical inversion approach to build detailed facies models and accurately predict porosity variation. Ranking of the geostatistical model based on an objective criterion identified three model scenarios of P10, P50, and P90 that helped to measure the rock quality uncertainty and de-risk the drilling in a particular section of interest.
